Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United
States and preserved the Union during the American Civil War.
Lincoln is well known and admired for his inner qualities such
as honor, integrity, honesty, humor, faithfulness, resolve and
perseverance. In 1863, Lincoln issued his Emancipation
Proclamation to abolish slavery, and his military genius was
admired during the difficult times of the Civil War. Lincoln was
not only known for his great qualities, but for his skill at
public speaking.
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a
man’s character, give him power.
